Fast becoming my favourite day of the year, over taking Christmas because lets face it, what could possibly be better than a day dedicated to releasing special collectable records!

A whole 24 hours celebrating the institution of the independent record stores (the few that still exist) with a selection of exclusive releases from artists including Foo Fighters, Queen, Deftones and countless others.

This event is happening Worldwide so no matter where you may be there should be something happening near you!  Last year saw the exclusive release of a brand new Blur track along with highly collectable rarities from the likes of The Rolling Stones, Queens Of The Stone Age and Metallica.

My pick of the bunch this year… well there is a lot to choose from and there are new titles still being announced but some choice items include Limited 7″s by My Chemical Romance, Duran Duran, Green Day/Husker Du, Rival Schools plus 7″ boxsets by Beady Eye and REM.  There are numerous vinyl LPs as well including special issues from Foo Fighters and Deftones…. my credit card is already crying in anticipation of the spanking it is about to get!
